Dear Journal,

Enough with the sentimental mushy stuff!!!!  I told Cyndi we have people from all over the country who have nothing better to do, but to log onto our website and see what is going on with us.  These people don't want to be starting their day off crying!!!!  They want to be entertained with our sense of humor and insightful social commentary. ;-)

Last night we went out for dinner for Cyndi's Birthday with our coordinators.  We went to a very nice restaurant (different then the only other 3 that we know of).  Cyndi was given a pair of earring as a bday present from them.  She also received a bouqet of roses from One World Adoption Agency.  Many of the hotel staff who speak little to no english, made it a point to wish Cyndi a Happy Birthday speaking in English.

We started out our day today with a visit to the babyhouse.  After the visit we went shopping for things that the orphange needs.  You are supposed to make a orphanage donation as part of this whole process.  Of all of the things you spend money on this bothers me the least.  At least you know this money is going directly to helping out the orphans.  We purchased 4 strollers, 2 swings, 10 little pottie seats, and lots of little play toys for about 24,000 tenge.  For those of you now up on the US/Kazak exchange rate that comes to about $177.  Heck you can hardly touch a stroller in the states for that!!  Monday we will be presenting our gift to the orphanage.

Tonight we were invited to dinner.  Cyndi met a couple who are from The United States, but have been living here for 11 years as humanitarian aid workers.  She invited about 4 other women and Cyndi and myself.  The woman asked if I would mind be the only male with 4 other women.  Heck no!!!  Sounds like a good ratio to me. ;-)

Well I'd love to say more, but it is getting late for our 39th visit with Logan.  Don't get me wrong I love the little guy, but these visits to the orphanage are starting to get to me.  Just let me take him home and give him a bath already!!!! ;-)

Does anybody know a place in Kazakhstan that sells Pop Tarts or Oreos?

Let me know,
Larry
