next day's entry
Dear Journal,

So what is a typical day in Kazakhstan.

Usually I wake up at about 5:00am.or so depending if I was up late the night before watching 24.  I spend some time doing some work for work back home.  I am in the middle of a big computer project back home and it has given alot of time to write the transfer programs needed for the project.

At about 8:00am we usually get up and get ready for the day.  At 9:00am we head down for breakfast which is included in the price of the hotel.  Breakfast is usually eggs or pancakes with fruit on the side.  For a couple of days I would order toast with sprat, which I thought was butter.  Well it winds up the sprat is actually fish.  I kept wondering why my toast would have little sardines on it.

At 9:45 the driver takes us to the baby house.  We then spend the next 2 hours crawling on the floor with Logan.  Although it is great being with Logn it is difficult figuring out what to do with him for 2 hours twice a day.  We bought some toys and cookies that we take with us.  We usually spend about a 1/2 hour watching him gnaw away at the cookie.  Cyndi spends another hour or so throwing him in the air.  Another 1/2 hour is spent asking if the 2 hours are almost up yet.  We love Logan, but I mean how much can you do with a 10 month old without the amenities of home.

At noon we get picked up by our driver (when he remembers, yes he forgot once) and taken back to the hotel.  We spend the time between noon and 3:00pm either having lunch, walking, sleeping or hanging out at the internet cafe.  At 3:00pm it is back to the baby house for more bonding with Logan.  At 5:00pm we head back to the hotel.

When we get back to the hotel we generally hang out with the other American adoptive parents or grab some dinner.  We usually have either lunch or dinner, but rarely both.  After dinner we usually log on to the computer and update the website and respond to email.

After that we generally head back to the hotel and wash our clothes in the bathtub with Woolite.  The hotel has a laundry service, but we haven't heard great things about it.  So we take a step back in time and wash our clothes by hand (ok Cyndi does it, but I watch and offer her support).  After that we generally play UNO for a couple of hours or watch 24.

Everybody for the past several years has raved about the TV show 24.  So I purchased the first season on DVD.  We are completely hooked on the show.  So far we have watched about 16 of the 24 episodes.

Today is Day 5 of about 21 days of bonding.  The days are all exactly like this.  Can anybody send us season 2 of 24?

My name is Larry Keilin and I am being held captive in Kazakhstan.  I receive numerous emails from my familes, friends and people that I work with. I have no idea when I will see my son or the rest of my family.  This is going to be the longest month of my life!!!
